EWC CS2: Legacy vs FaZe

About Market

MARKET SUMMARY

This market centers on the outcome of the Esports World Cup 2026 Counter-Strike 2 Group B upper-bracket semi-final between Legacy and FaZe on 13 August 2026, 16:50 UTC, comparing which of the two organisations is officially recorded as the winner. The fixture is a meaningful focal point because Group B is the heaviest section of the draw and its group stage runs as a double-elimination bracket, so a best-of-three win here carries a side toward the four playoff places available from each group while defeat drops it into a lower bracket crowded with elite opposition. Traders are assessing the relative likelihood that each team is recorded as the match winner, weighing recent international form, head-to-head history, map-pool preferences, and the roster stability each organisation carries into the Paris group stage.

RULES
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market refers to the Counter-Strike 2 Group B upper-bracket semi-final between Legacy and FaZe at the Esports World Cup 2026, initially scheduled for 13 August 2026, 16:50 UTC. It resolves to "Legacy" if Legacy win the match against FaZe, and to "FaZe" if FaZe win the match against Legacy. It resolves to Tie if the match is cancelled (not played at all), concluded without an officially declared winner, or postponed beyond 24 hours of the original scheduled start; in the event of a Tie resolution, all positions settle at $0.50 per share.

  2. Definition of Winner and Series Format: The winner is the team recorded as winning this match in the official results published at https://hltv.org. The match is played as a best-of-three (Bo3) as published in the official Esports World Cup 2026 bracket, and the first team to win 2 maps is the official series winner; no draw outcome is possible under Bo3 format. If the tournament organizer publishes a different series format for this fixture, the published format governs and the team recorded as winning the series is the winner. Individual map or round results do not resolve this market — only the recorded match result does.

  3. Official Sources and Evidence: The resolution source for this market is official information from https://hltv.org together with the official Esports World Cup tournament organizer's published results. However, if https://hltv.org has not published final results after the series concludes, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead, including video evidence. Secondary sources include Liquipedia Counter-Strike (https://liquipedia.net/counterstrike) and verified official team social media; these may be used only for confirmation of timing and result details and cannot override clear or later-dated publications from the resolution source.

  4. Resolution Timing: The market resolves after the conclusion of the series, once the official result is published, with a resolution after the result is posted on https://hltv.org or by the tournament organizer — or once it becomes clear that no qualifying result will be recorded within 24 hours of the original scheduled start.

  5. Handling Postponements and Cancellations: If the match is delayed but a winner is determined within 7 days of the original scheduled start, that result determines the outcome. If the match is cancelled (not played at all), or no winner is determined within 7 days of the original scheduled start, the market resolves to Tie at $0.50 per share. Server issues, technical pauses, and map restarts are handled per the official tournament organizer's rulings, and the active duty map pool in force at the time of the match governs map selection.

  6. Forfeits, Disqualifications, and Walkovers: If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, the market resolves to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover in which a team withdraws before the start and the other advances automatically, the market resolves to Tie at $0.50 per share.

  7. Ambiguities and Disputes: If conflicting information exists regarding the result of this match, the most recent official publication at https://hltv.org or by the Esports World Cup tournament organizer takes precedence, or, where the 2-hour fallback in Rule 3 applies, the consensus of credible reporting. In any remaining ambiguous case not explicitly covered above, the resolver will rely on official records for this specific match to determine the outcome.
