Ethereum Up or Down on Sep 17?
About Market
Market Summary
This market forecasts the 24-hour price change in ETH/USDT from 00:00 UTC on September 17, 2025, to 00:00 UTC on September 18, 2025. This captures short-term momentum in the crypto market based on official Binance data.
Rules
- The market resolves to "Up" if the closing price of the Binance 1-minute ETH/USDT candle ending at 00:00 UTC on September 18, 2025, is strictly greater than the closing price of the 1-minute candle ending at 00:00 UTC on September 17, 2025.
- The market resolves to "Down" if the closing price on September 18 is strictly less than the closing price on September 17.
- If the closing prices are exactly equal, the market resolves 50-50.
- Prices are sourced from the Binance chart for ETH/USDT (available at binance.com/en/trade/ETH_USDT) in UTC timezone, using the close of the respective 1-minute candles.
- Fallback source if Binance data is incomplete or unavailable: CoinGecko historical data for Bitcoin vs. USDT (coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum/historical_data?vs_currency=usdt), using the end-of-day price snapshot for September 16, 2025 (as proxy for 00:00 UTC on September 17) and September 17, 2025 (as proxy for 00:00 UTC on September 18), since CoinGecko snapshots are taken at UTC midnight.
- If APIs or charts return partial or incomplete data (e.g., an incomplete candlestick), use the last available closing price before the specified timestamp.
- If there is a discrepancy greater than 0.1% between Binance and CoinGecko data, resolve the outcome by averaging the closing prices from both sources.
- Intraday prices and trading halts are ignored; only the specified closing prices count.
- Resolution will occur no later than 12:00 UTC on September 18, 2025, once data for September 18, 2025, is available and verified.
