About Market

MARKET SUMMARY

This market centers on the ODI fixture between West Indies and Sri Lanka in the ongoing bilateral ODI series, a match that carries meaningful implications for series standings and both sides' momentum heading into the second half of the international calendar. ODI cricket at this level serves as a key measure of each squad's depth and adaptability across all three disciplines — batting, bowling, and fielding — with the result contributing directly to competitive rankings and series outcomes. Traders are assessing the likelihood of a West Indies or Sri Lanka victory, weighing current squad composition, home conditions, recent ODI form, and head-to-head records in this format.

RULES
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to "West Indies" if West Indies win, or "Sri Lanka" if Sri Lanka win, as determined by the finalized official match result. If the match ends without a winner — including abandonment, cancellation, or a tied result with no on-field tiebreak available or applied — the market resolves to Tie, settling at $0.50 per share.
  2. Definition of "Wins": A team is considered to have won if the official match result declares them the winner under any lawful on-field ruling. DLS method adjustments, DRS rulings, over-rate penalties, forfeits, and walkovers are all treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide a Super Over or equivalent tiebreak, the winner of that tiebreak determines resolution. If no tiebreak is used or available (e.g., a group-stage ODI), the market resolves to Tie at $0.50 per share.
  3. Official Sources and Evidence: The primary resolution source is the official match result as published by ESPNcricinfo (espncricinfo.com) and confirmed by the relevant governing body (Cricket West Indies / Sri Lanka Cricket / ICC). If official statistics are not published within 2 hours of the match's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting — including Cricbuzz and BBC Sport — may be used for corroboration.
  4. Resolution Timing: The market resolves no sooner than 3 hours after the official match result is confirmed by the primary source.
  5. Handling Postponements and Cancellations: If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned without producing an official winner, the market resolves to Tie at $0.50 per share.
  6. Ambiguities and Disputes: In the event of conflicting evidence, the official governing body's published match result takes precedence over all other sources. ESPNcricinfo is used for corroboration only where the governing body's statistics are unavailable or delayed. Any result subject to an ongoing official appeal or administrative review does not delay resolution unless the governing body formally overturns the on-field result.
