About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether the film “One Battle After Another” will secure more than five Academy Awards before the conclusion of the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, using the event as the decisive milestone for measuring its competitive success. The ceremony represents the formal endpoint of awards season, where nominees across categories are officially recognized and final results are established within the film industry’s most prominent honors framework. Traders are assessing whether the film’s cumulative wins will surpass the specified threshold relative to that milestone, weighing award momentum, category competitiveness, and industry recognition patterns to determine the outcome recorded when the ceremony concludes.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to “Yes” if the film “One Battle After Another” wins more than five Academy Awards at the 98th Academy Awards. It resolves to “No” if the film wins five or fewer Academy Awards. There is no TIE outcome in this market.
  2. Definition of Award Wins: Award wins include any competitive Academy Award granted to the film directly or to individuals for their credited work on the film. Non-competitive honors, honorary awards, special recognitions, nominations, shortlist appearances, and revoked awards do not count toward the total.

Official Sources and Evidence: Resolution is based on official results published by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences through official Academy Awards publications and the live broadcast of the ceremony. A consensus of credible reporting may be used for confirmation but cannot override official Academy publications.
  4. Resolution Timing: The market resolves as soon as reasonably practical after official winners of the 98th Academy Awards are announced, and in all cases no later than 00:00 UTC March 15, 2026.
  5. Ambiguities and Disputes: If there is conflicting information regarding award counts or official winner status, later-dated and more detailed official Academy publications take precedence. Any remaining ambiguity will be resolved by applying these rules to determine the officially recognized number of qualifying awards won by the film.
