Thailand Legislative Election Winner
About Market
This market centers on who will emerge victorious in Thailand’s legislative election, determining control of the country’s government following the national vote. The question reflects uncertainty around voter sentiment, party coalitions, and Thailand’s complex parliamentary dynamics, where government formation depends not only on seat counts but also on post-election alliances. Traders are weighing factors such as party popularity, regional voting patterns, campaign momentum, and the likelihood of coalition-building to assess which political group or bloc will ultimately secure victory and lead the next government.
- Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to “YES” if the People’s Party (PPLE) wins the greatest number of seats in the Thai House of Representatives as a result of the Thai legislative election. It resolves to “NO” if PPLE does not win the greatest number of seats. There is no TIE outcome in this market; it resolves only to YES or NO.
- Definition of “Win” and Seat Count Basis: For the purposes of this market, “win” means securing more seats in the Thai House of Representatives than any other political party or coalition, based solely on final seat counts. Government formation, coalition agreements, or prime ministerial outcomes are not relevant.
- Applicable Election and Scope: Only the Thai legislative election associated with the dissolution of the Thai House of Representatives on December 12, 2025 is considered. By-elections, re-runs, or later changes in parliamentary composition do not affect resolution once final results are determined.
- Official Sources and Evidence: Resolution is based on a consensus of credible reporting of the election results. In cases of ambiguity or conflicting reports, the official results published by the Thai government, specifically the Thai Election Commission, take precedence.
- Resolution Timing: The market nominally ends at 23:59:59 UTC on February 10, 2026, but if official results are not available by then, resolution will wait until results are published, up to March 31, 2026. The market may resolve earlier if the outcome becomes definitively known.
- Delayed or Failed Election: If voting does not occur, or if by March 31, 2026 no reasonable and official outcome determining seat counts is available, the market resolves to “NO.”
- Ambiguities and Disputes: In cases of disputed or revised results, later official publications from the Thai Election Commission take precedence. If uncertainty remains, the resolver will determine whether a reasonable, well-informed observer would conclude that PPLE won the greatest number of seats.
