Olympic Men’s Hockey Semifinal Winners?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on which teams will emerge victorious in the Olympic men’s ice hockey semifinals, determining the two nations that advance to compete for the gold medal. The semifinal stage represents the final hurdle before the championship game, where match outcomes are decided by regulation play, overtime, or shootout under official Olympic rules. Traders are weighing factors such as roster strength, recent tournament performance, historical rivalries, defensive structure, and goaltending form to assess which teams are most likely to secure a place in the gold medal final.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to “YES” if the United States is officially declared the winner of the Olympic men’s ice hockey semifinal match against Slovakia and advances to the gold medal game. It resolves to “NO” if Slovakia is officially declared the winner and advances. There is no TIE outcome in this market.
  2. Definition of “Win”: The winner is the team officially recognized by the IOC as advancing to the gold medal game. Victories in regulation, overtime, or shootout all count equally, and the final official result governs.
  3. Authoritative Sources and Evidence: Resolution is based on the official Olympic results published by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and/or the official Olympic Games website. Secondary sports media may be used only for confirmation and may not override official IOC records.
  4. Resolution Deadline: This market ends at 22:40 UTC February 20, 2026. It resolves as soon as reasonably practical after the official semifinal result is published by the IOC.
  5. Postponement or Cancellation: If the semifinal is postponed but later completed, resolution is based on the completed match. If the semifinal is cancelled and no official winner is declared, this market is voided.
  6. Disqualification or Administrative Decision: If a team is disqualified before or during the match and the IOC officially declares the advancing team, resolution follows that official decision. If a disqualification occurs after the match but before official confirmation, resolution follows the IOC’s finalized official result.
