Will BTC close below $60,000 in February?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether Bitcoin will close below $60,000 at any point during February, based on its official end-of-day price. The question reflects expectations around short-term downside risk in the crypto market, influenced by factors such as macroeconomic data, interest-rate expectations, regulatory developments, and overall market sentiment. Traders are assessing whether volatility or bearish pressure will be sufficient to push Bitcoin’s monthly closing price below this threshold during the period, translating month-long price action into a clear, time-bound outcome.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria:
This market resolves to “YES” if the closing price of Bitcoin (BTC) is strictly below $60,000 on any eligible daily close in February 2026, on or before 23:59:59 UTC on February 28, 2026. It resolves to “NO” if Bitcoin does not record any qualifying daily close below $60,000 within this period. There is no TIE outcome in this market; it resolves only to YES or NO.
  2. Definition of “Daily Close” and Applicable Price:
For the purposes of this market, a “daily close” refers to the closing price of the 1-minute BTC/USDT candle ending at 00:00 UTC, representing the completed trading day immediately prior. Intraday prices, temporary dips, highs, lows, or incomplete candles do not qualify.
  3. Eligible Trading Days:
All calendar days in February 2026 with a completed 00:00 UTC close are eligible for consideration. If multiple qualifying closes occur, only the first occurrence is required for the market to resolve to YES.
  4. Official Sources and Evidence:
The primary resolution source is the Binance BTC/USDT chart, using prices displayed in the UTC timezone and based on the close of the relevant 1-minute candle. If Binance data is unavailable or incomplete, CoinGecko historical BTC/USDT data may be used as a secondary source, relying on its UTC midnight price snapshot.
  5. Handling Incomplete or Conflicting Data:
If the relevant candlestick is incomplete or unavailable, the last fully completed closing price prior to 00:00 UTC will be used. If Binance and CoinGecko prices differ by more than 0.1%, the outcome will be determined by averaging the two closing prices.
  6. Resolution Timing:
The market may resolve immediately once a qualifying close below $60,000 is observed. If no such close occurs, final resolution to “NO” will occur as soon as reasonably practical after 23:59:59 UTC on February 28, 2026, once all relevant data is available.
  7. Ambiguities and Disputes:
In cases of ambiguity regarding timestamps, candle completion, or data discrepancies, priority is given to Binance’s published records, followed by corroboration from CoinGecko. If uncertainty remains, resolution is determined based on what a reasonable, well-informed observer would conclude from the available closing-price data.
