Will BTS’s ‘ARIRANG’ have more than 2.5 million album sales in its debut week?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether BTS’s album “ARIRANG” will surpass a defined commercial milestone in its debut week following release. The debut week serves as the key milestone because first-week album activity has become the industry’s most visible benchmark for measuring an artist’s immediate market impact and fan engagement after launch. Traders are assessing whether the album’s initial commercial performance will exceed the specified threshold relative to that milestone, weighing historical BTS sales trends, global fan demand, and the scale of promotional momentum surrounding the release.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to “YES” if BTS’s album “ARIRANG” records more than 2,500,000 in debut week sales. It resolves to “NO” if debut week sales are 2,500,000 or fewer. The market resolves to “Tie” if the album is canceled, postponed beyond 23:59 UTC March 30, 2026, or if no official debut week sales data is recorded by that deadline. In the event of a Tie resolution, all positions settle at $0.50 per share.
  2. Definition of Debut Week Sales: “Debut week sales” refers to the first full tracking week of sales activity for the album following its official release, as reported in the weekly figures used by the primary resolution source. The metric counted is the value reported for the album in the “Activity” column of the HITS TOP 50 list.
  3. Official Sources and Evidence: The primary resolution source is the HITS TOP 50 list published by Hits Daily Double at https://hitsdailydouble.com/sales_plus_streaming. The value used for resolution is the number shown in the column titled “Activity” for the album “ARIRANG” in the first version labeled “FINAL” or the last published update before the next chart cycle. If this source becomes permanently unavailable, another credible music industry data source reporting equivalent debut week sales activity may be used.
  4. Handling Release Timing and Availability: BTS’s album “ARIRANG” is scheduled to be released on March 20, 2026. If the album is postponed beyond 23:59 UTC March 30, 2026, canceled, or otherwise not officially released in time for qualifying debut week sales data to be recorded, the market resolves to “Tie.” If the album is released before the deadline, the debut week results corresponding to that release will be used for resolution.
  5. Resolution Timing: The market will normally be resolved as soon as reasonably practical after the qualifying debut week sales figures are published by the primary resolution source or once the March 30, 2026 deadline has passed without qualifying data.
  6. Ambiguities and Disputes: If there is conflicting or incomplete information regarding the reported debut week sales activity for the album, the figures published by Hits Daily Double take precedence. In cases where the primary source becomes unavailable or unclear, the resolver will rely on the closest equivalent widely recognized industry data source reporting the album’s debut week sales activity.
