Will Crude Oil (CL) hit $115 by the end of April 8?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether the price of WTI crude oil futures will reach a specified price threshold before the end of April 8, which serves as the defining temporal milestone for the observation period. The cutoff date functions as a boundary that separates qualifying price movements within the relevant trading window from those occurring outside it, anchoring all evaluation of price action within that timeframe. Traders are assessing whether market dynamics will drive crude oil futures to the specified level relative to that milestone, weighing supply conditions, geopolitical developments, macroeconomic signals, and energy demand expectations to determine whether the threshold will be reached before the cutoff.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: This market resolves to “YES” if the official CME settlement price of the Active Month WTI Crude Oil (CL) futures contract is recorded by CME Group as equal to or greater than $115 USD on any trading day on or before 8 April 2026, 23:59 UTC. It resolves to “NO” if no such qualifying settlement price is recorded by that deadline. There is no TIE outcome in this market.
  2. Definition of “Active Month” and Applicable Settlement Price: The “Active Month” refers to the nearest designated delivery month for WTI Crude Oil (CL) futures that is not the spot month, as defined by CME Group at the relevant time. If the contract rolls during the market period, the next eligible contract automatically becomes the Active Month. The “settlement price” is the official daily settlement published by CME; intraday highs, last trades, bid/ask quotes, or indicative prices do not qualify.
  3. Official Sources and Evidence: The primary source is the official settlement prices published by CME Group for the Active Month WTI Crude Oil (CL) futures contract. Secondary sources such as TradingView or Investing.com may be used for corroboration if CME data is temporarily unavailable but cannot override clear, later-dated CME publications or corrections.
  4. Handling Non-Trading Days: Only trading days for which CME publishes an official settlement price are eligible. If 8 April 2026 is not a trading day, only settlement prices published prior to 8 April 2026, 23:59 UTC are considered.
  5. Resolution Timing: The market will normally be resolved as soon as reasonably practical after 8 April 2026, 23:59 UTC, once it is clear from official CME data whether a qualifying settlement occurred before the deadline.
  6. Ambiguities and Disputes: If there is conflicting information regarding the settlement price or applicable contract, clear and later-dated CME publications take precedence. Any remaining ambiguity will be resolved by applying these rules to determine whether the official settlement price reached or exceeded $115 USD by the deadline.
