Will Pokémon Pokopia sell 6 million copies before April?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether Pokémon Pokopia can surpass a cumulative sales milestone of six million copies before the arrival of April, using the transition into the new month as the reference point for comparison. The shift into April serves as a natural industry checkpoint, often used to evaluate a title’s commercial performance relative to launch momentum, promotional cycles, and broader release windows within the global games market. Traders are assessing whether the game’s sales trajectory will reach the specified threshold prior to that milestone, weighing signals from official announcements, historical franchise performance patterns, and platform-level demand indicators to determine if the target is achieved in time.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: The market resolves to “Yes” if Pokémon Pokopia is officially reported to have reached or exceeded cumulative global sales of 6,000,000 copies at any time before 23:59 UTC March 31, 2026. The market resolves to “No” if official reports show sales below this threshold by that time. There is no TIE outcome in this market.
  2. Definition of Cumulative Sales: “Cumulative sales” refers to the total number of copies sold worldwide across all platforms and editions, as reported in official publisher disclosures. Physical and digital sales are included; free distributions, subscription access without purchase, and unofficial estimates are excluded.
  3. Official Sources and Evidence: The primary resolution sources are official sales announcements, financial disclosures, earnings releases, or investor reports published by Nintendo or The Pokémon Company. Secondary confirmation from major financial news outlets or industry analysis firms may be used for corroboration but cannot override official publisher disclosures.
  4. Timing of Sales Recognition: Sales are considered achieved at the time they are formally reported in an official announcement, even if the sales occurred earlier. Interim retailer leaks, analyst estimates, or unofficial tracking databases do not qualify as valid evidence.
  5. Resolution Timing: The market will be resolved as soon as reasonably practical after 23:59 UTC March 31, 2026 once official sources confirm whether the sales threshold was reached before the deadline. If reporting is delayed, resolution may wait until authoritative data becomes available.
  6. Handling Ambiguities and Disputes: If reported figures vary across sources, priority is given to official Nintendo or Pokémon Company publications. If cumulative totals are revised after initial publication, the most recent official revision prior to market resolution is used. In unresolved cases, the resolver applies these rules to determine whether a reasonable observer would conclude the threshold was met before the deadline.
