Will Portugal beat DR Congo by 3 or more goals?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on the Group K fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between Portugal and DR Congo, with attention focused on the margin of victory and whether Portugal can establish a clear, decisive winning gap across the full ninety minutes. The pairing is a notable focal point because it sets an established European side against a nation returning to the World Cup stage for the first time since 1974, a contrast in pedigree and tournament experience that shapes expectations for how comfortably the favourite might control the contest. Traders are assessing the likelihood that Portugal not only wins but does so by a margin of three goals or more, weighing Portugal's attacking quality against DR Congo's defensive resilience and the typical scoring patterns of World Cup group-stage encounters.

Rules
  1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: The market resolves YES if Portugal wins the match by a margin of three or more goals (Portugal's goal total minus DR Congo's goal total is three or greater). It resolves NO in all other outcomes, including a Portugal win by exactly one or two goals, a draw, or any DR Congo win. There is no Tie outcome for the result itself; a Tie applies only under the postponement and cancellation conditions in Rule 5.

  2. Definition of "Win by 3 or More Goals": The winning margin is the difference between Portugal's and DR Congo's goal totals — including own goals — credited in the official match record over regulation time, defined as the 90 minutes of normal play plus any referee-added stoppage time in both halves, ending the moment the referee signals full-time. Own goals count toward the team credited with the goal in the official record. As this is a group-stage fixture, no extra time or penalty shootout is played; only goals scored within regulation time count toward this market.

  3. Official Sources and Evidence: Primary source: Highlightly.net API (https://highlightly.net/) for the official full-time result and goalscorer data. Secondary sources for corroboration: ESPN, BBC Sport, Soccerway, FlashScore, and the official FIFA website (fifa.com). The official FIFA match report is the definitive record in the event of any discrepancy.

  4. Resolution Timing: The market resolves the moment the official full-time result is confirmed on Highlightly.net, with no additional waiting buffer. Trading stops 60 minutes after the match starts (see Rule 7) and all open positions are locked through to resolution.

  5. Handling Postponements and Cancellations: If the match is postponed, suspended, cancelled, or abandoned before full-time, the market remains open during a 12-hour waiting period to allow the fixture to be completed. If no eligible completed full-time result exists more than 12 hours past the scheduled kickoff, the market resolves to Tie, and all positions settle at $0.50 per share. Partial scores from an abandoned match are ignored unless the fixture is officially resumed and completed within the waiting window, in which case the final regulation-time result is used.

  6. Ambiguities and Disputes: In the event of conflicting scoreline reports between sources, the official FIFA match report takes precedence. If the primary source (Highlightly.net) is unavailable at resolution time, a consensus of at least two secondary sources is used. Any result under active official protest or review remains unresolved until FIFA issues a final ruling.

  7. Trading Deadline: Trading stops 60 minutes after the match starts — the scheduled kickoff plus 60 minutes (approximately 2026-06-17 18:00 UTC). No positions may be opened, increased, or closed after that point, regardless of any delay to the actual kickoff or variation in stoppage time. All open positions are locked through to resolution.
