Will more than two goals be scored in Australia vs Türkiye?

About Market

Market Summary

This market centers on whether the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group D meeting between Australia and Türkiye will be a high-scoring affair, crossing the threshold of more than two total goals. The fixture stands as an early measure of attacking ambition for two nations chasing progression from the group stage, where goal output can shape qualification math as much as results themselves. Coming together on the World Cup's biggest stage, both sides bring contrasting styles that frame the total-goals question as a read on tempo, finishing, and defensive discipline. Traders are assessing the likelihood that the combined scoreline reaches three or more goals within regulation play, weighing each team's recent form to gauge whether this encounter delivers an open, goal-laden contest.

Rules

1. Market Outcomes and Resolution Criteria: The market resolves YES if the combined total number of goals scored by Australia and Türkiye is three or more (i.e., more than two). It resolves NO if the combined total is two or fewer (0, 1, or 2 goals). There is no Tie outcome for the result itself; a Tie applies only under the postponement and cancellation conditions in Rule 5.

2. Definition of "More Than Two Goals": The total is the sum of all goals — including own goals — credited to either team in the official match record during the 90 minutes of regulation play plus any referee-added stoppage time. Own goals count toward the team credited with the goal in the official record and are included in the combined total. Goals scored in extra time or a penalty shootout do not count, as this is a FIFA World Cup group-stage match resolved under 90-minute rules, and no such period is played.

3. Official Sources and Evidence: Primary source: Highlightly.net API (https://highlightly.net/) for the official match result and goalscorer data. Secondary sources for corroboration: ESPN, BBC Sport, and the official FIFA website (fifa.com). The official FIFA match report is the definitive record in the event of any discrepancy.

4. Resolution Timing: The market resolves the moment the official full-time result is posted on Highlightly.net, with no additional waiting buffer. Trading stops at half-time (see Rule 7) and all open positions are locked through to resolution.

5. Handling Postponements and Cancellations: If the match is postponed, suspended, cancelled, or abandoned before completion, the market remains open during a 12-hour waiting period to allow the fixture to be completed. If the match is delayed more than 12 hours past the scheduled kickoff (04:00 UTC, June 14, 2026) with no eligible finished result, the market resolves to Tie, and all positions settle at $0.50 per share. Partial scores from an abandoned match are ignored unless the fixture is officially resumed and completed within that window.

6. Ambiguities and Disputes: In the event of conflicting scoreline reports between sources, the official FIFA match report takes precedence. If the primary source (Highlightly.net) is unavailable at resolution time, a consensus of at least two secondary sources is used. Any result under active official protest or review remains unresolved until FIFA issues a final ruling.

7. Trading Deadline: Trading stops at half-time of the match — the moment the referee signals the end of the first half (45 minutes plus first-half stoppage time), at the scheduled kickoff of 04:00 UTC on June 14, 2026 this falls at approximately 04:55 UTC. No positions may be opened, increased, or closed after the first-half whistle, regardless of any delay to the actual kickoff or variation in stoppage time. All open positions are locked through to resolution.
